What is a Sorority?
A sorority is a social experience based on the fundamental right of a free people to form voluntary associations. It is one of the enrichments of college life and provides a multititude of opportunities to network, make social connections, and grow as an individual.

Sororities exist because they
During college years, many students move away from home or are living on their own for the first time. A sorority provides sisterhood and friendship for young women - a home away from home. Sororities give value beyond college years and create, through their ideals, an ever widening circle of service beyond the membership. They develop an individual's potential through leadership opportunities and offer unique experiences that can develop a member's academic, social, and professional life.

Sororities continue because

Young women feel a continuing need to belong. Parents appreciate fraternity values and standards and cooperate to make membership possible. College administrations, recognizing the values of fraternities, continue to welcome them on their campuses and to invite them to establish new chapters.
